“Neckties satisfy modern man’s desire to dress in art.”
For forty or so years I kept all of my ties. Fashions changed, gravy was spilled, gifts were received, I kept them all in a large Rubbermaid tub. We are now in “less is more” mode and I tried a couple of experiments with the ties before I finally give them to a charity shop. One idea, shown above, was to weave them into a tapestry. It was beautiful but had issues of finishing and how to secure it. Ties are mostly silk and very slippery.
The second idea was to turn them into a wall hanging. A big wall and a critical mass of ties might make art. After I finished both experiments I put them back in the tub and stored them again. I couldn’t give them to a charity shop yet. Apparently I am as attached to my ties as my ties were to me.
Two silk worms had a race. They ended up in a tie.
This works as a joke because tie is a Homophone.
