“Humans are willing to commute for roughly an hour per day.”
Cesare Marchetti, Italian Physicist
Marchetti’s Constant on Wikipedia is an interesting read. They calculated average commute times and extrapolated that this must be what people are willing to put up with. Half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon.
The bridge shown is in Mosier, Oregon and my daughter Rebecca was part of the team that restored it a few years ago. By coincidence today is her birthday. If you squint you can see her standing on the bridge.
Happy Birthday Rebecca!
