I pretty much agree with that. I was never sure about “climate change” as an event, and since we have enough climate here to makes three states edgy, I just ignore the whole idea of “the sky is falling” meme for it. I always figure, if you tell enough people about something, for long enough with “see?” “see?” interjected in every other sentence, pretty soon people will start to agree. And when you live where we do, where every day is an adventure in weather, climate change does not impress us all that much. Yesterday it poured, it was in the 60s. Day before that was cold but no rain. Today it’s almost too warm to be comfortable outside. Tomorrow, who knows. We’re not there yet.
I’ve always felt sorry for the New England weathermen, their maps are a nightmare of lines and suppositions and backtracking: We lived for about three months in California, and the weathermen out there have it so easy…big map, they whack the map and say, sunny tomorrow, good beach day, wear that suntan lotion, hur hur hur…and that’s it. Every day.
