The Founders: William Paca

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

William Paca

The above words were included in the end of the Declaration of Independence and are attributed to William Paca. He was one of the two men of Italian descent who signed the Declaration. He became a judge in Maryland and opposed the Constitution because it did not have a bill of rights.
