Oliver Wolcott
The above words were spoken by Oliver Wolcott after he had torn down a brass statue of King George III and turned it into 42,000 bullets. He was a General during the revolutionary war and a delegate to the Continental Congress.
He was ill in 1776 and missed the original signing of the Declaration of Independence but was able to sign it sometime later.
During his long (he died at 71) life he was a doctor, merchant, soldier and a politician. Eventually becoming Governor of Connecticut. He is buried in Litchfield, Connecticut.
