Thomas Stone
Thomas Stone was a pacifist and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He felt pushed to favoring war by British intransigence. Frequent travel, financial worries, and concerns for his wife’s health took a toll on Stone. He died at age 44 and barely lived to see an independent America. He was one of the 25 lawyers who signed the Declaration.
