Robert Morris was a central figure in the American Revolution and his life is quite well documented. His frequent collaborator in financing the Revolutionary War was Haym Salomon. He and Alexander Hamilton were considered the architects of the financial system of the early United States. By 1800 Morris had lost all his money in land speculation and spent several years in debtors prison.
Perhaps I should try to rate the signers by how well known they are. Robert Morris would be high on the B list.
