Last year it was April 29 when I took the pictures for the Saguaro Flower Festival 2018. This year it was May 4.

I was worried that the saguaros were not going to bloom this year but then suddenly out the flowers came with little warning. My impression is that there were not quite so many this year as last. Remember I’m always certain but often wrong. These photos are from the same saguaro as last year at the NW corner of Lincoln and 22nd St. I used my iPhone and a selfie stick with a remote.

Yes the plural of saguaro is saguaros and the pronunciation is sə-ˈwär-ə. Sa like in “salt”, war like in a southerner saying “wire”,and oh like in “oh darn”. Next year I might want to try filming with a drone to solve the wobble problem in this video.
