Serendipity In April

April 2019 serendipity number one. Visiting the Rose Garden at the Huntington Library at the peak of the first bloom.

April 2019 serendipity number two. Antelope Canyon, Page, AZ at noon. It is hot, crowded, expensive and totally worth it. We went to the Huntington Library because it is lovely and Nurit used to be a docent there. It was more than just lovely it was a spectacular day of perfect weather and the garden in full bloom, especially the Roses. It was a Keukenhof type of day.

The trip to Antelope Canyon was planned long in advance. You need a reservation. I was not very enthusiastic. It sounded to me like it was very touristy, crowded and not really hiking at all. And all these things were true but the canyon is so beautiful it takes your breath away. Even I the skeptic of all organized tours was blown away. Be sure to take the Upper Canyon Tour that is at noon. You’ll have to plan.

The stone glows.

You can’t plan for serendipity.
