“CHANGING BOUNDARIES”:

AN EXHIBIT OF ANTIQUE MAPS OF THE  U.S.-MEXICO FRONTIER

Tecate, Baja California, Mexico (September 17, 2010) – Corredor Historico CAREM, A. C. announced today the opening and presentation of the exhibit CHANGING BOUNDARIES on Friday, October 1 at 6 p.m.

Maps tell stories.  Learn how the US-Mexico border evolved over the last four centuries in this exhibit of beautiful antique maps.  Original maps dated as early at 1600 show the claims, counter claims, conquests and discoveries that resulted in the current border line.  See proof that California is an island and learn how the  current US/Mexico border line came to be where it is today.

Exhibit Curator, Simon Burrow, will speak at the opening reception.  40 maps will be on exhibit for the first time in Mexico.

The exhibit will be available for viewing at CAREM in Tecate from October 1 until November 5, 2010.  It will be open Monday through Friday 10-4  or by appointment

Address:  CAREM Library and Museum Complex located at CECUTEC, Calle Tláloc no. 400, Tecate, B. C. Mexico.
