Francis Lightfoot Lee was a scion of the Lee family of the Virginia tidelands. Yes Robert E Lee of Civil War fame was of the same family.Early on he opposed the Stamp Act and was a willing delegate to the Continental Congress. He voted yes for the Declaration and signed it with his full name. Lightfoot was the surname of the best man at his fathers wedding.
