Fifty Taverns, Number Two

The White Horse Tavern in Newport, Rhode Island has a credible claim to be not only the oldest operating tavern in Rhode Island but also the oldest in the country. I didn’t look into the details too far, but the beer was good and the company was excellent. Richard and I ventured down there from Michelle and George’s house to try for a seat at the bar. We got one and met another interesting group doing the same attempt at a beer in an oldest bar. We were back at the house in time for a delicious dinner.

Two down and 48 more to go.
