I made a few Inukshuk in the time we have been home from Washington DC. Somebody asked me if it makes me sad if people knock them over. The answer is no. These are not permanent sculptures they are pop-up art and are made to test my ability to build an Inukshuk anywhere. I enjoy building them and taking their pictures. I hope that the people who knock them down enjoy it also. If they knock them down because they think I’m despoiling the desert by building them, then I hope they at least feel self-righteous. Self-righteousness is often an enjoyable feeling.
Warhol was a showman. His art and his persona were carefully built to garner attention. In fact he was making click-bait before there was an internet. Some of his quotes are brilliant. Using “deeply” to modify “superficial” is extremely creative.
