I am predicting that within a few generations there will be so little cooking in the average family that many homes will be built without kitchens. Four or five generations ago people made their own clothes. there wasn’t really a choice if you wanted clothes you or a neighbor or a relative made them. Then “ready to wear” clothes came along about 1900 and people bought them. But as late as the 1960’s women still learned to make clothes and some did. Now you would be hard pressed to find anyone who sews clothes. It happened over the course of 120 years and so slowly that most people didn’t even notice the big trend. They just bought clothes instead of cloth to make clothes.
I believe we are in the same process with food. Fifty years ago people went out to eat occasionally now nearly 50% of the average families food budget is spent outside the home. And with the trend to home delivery of much more than pizza the line is blurring but the trend is obvious. we don’t have to cook to eat anymore and so we aren’t.
But you say “I like to cook.” Okay keep cooking. But recognize that it is a dying art. There are professionals out there who can do it for most of us faster, better and cheaper.
