This picture is from Rebecca in Hackettstown, NJ.
It would be unremarkable except that it was taken on Tuesday the 28th of October. It snowed three or four inches that day two months earlier than usual. Damn global warming. In Pasadena on Tuesday it was 90F.
When I lived in Olean and Schenectady, NY I lived with snow and mud and generally bad weather. I thought that one had to tolerate the weather. It just was. And then in 1973 I moved to Los Angeles and I realized that staying in bad weather is rationalization. In my opinion there is no reason except inertia to live in snow.
For more of my thoughts on global warming click here I also wrote the Pasadena Protocol as a teasing copy of the Kyoto Protocol.
