The USA is imposing economic sanctions on Iran as a response to this weeks missile attack on oil process facilities in Saudi Arabia. I read this book to prepare for my walking tour of Normandy. And I was prepared. I knew about the Mulberry Harbours the failed paratroop drops and the Omaha beach landing before the tour guide talked about them. Atkinson tells the story well with just about the right level of detail for me. I did not read the other two volumes in this trilogy and I probably won’t.
