The Olympics are over but it is already time to start thinking about London 2012.  There are some odd events in the summer games so I thought I’d add a few more:

• Synchronized Long Jump—-think synchronized diving on land
• Back Run (various lengths) —- like the back stroke in swimming
• Texting for speed and clarity —- We want the young to be interested
• Tagging —- urban sports are ascendant
• Referee Kick — cheap shot at the angry Cuban loser

In the 1930, according to an article in the LA Times, painting was a medal sport so the exhibition versus sport discussion from a few days ago has been going on for some time.
