In Albuquerque we had dinner with David and Paula B and their friends Paul and Marcia S. We talked about New Mexico and politics and eventually the discussion turned to Muslim extremism.  Paul made an interesting point that the Muslim religion generally and the extremists particularly lack a sense of humor or irony.  It is a very good point.  They seem incapable of laughing at themselves and and take offense when others laugh at them however gently.  We all agreed that this lack of humor and irony is shared by true believers everywhere.
