I have been involved in public entitlement work for over 30 years and one of the many variations on the NIMBY thing that forever boggles my mind is the fact that many inner city neighborhood groups are upset over urban renewal and gentrification in their old (and much in need of urban renewal) neighborhoods. From a developers perspective, these are the “UPURS” (sound like Up YOurs !”) crowd who believe:
Urban Renewal Underway Really Sucks.
