During the revolution when the British occupied New York his estate in the Bronx was destroyed bu he and his family were given safe passage to Connecticut. He had three sons who fought in the war.
The name Morristown gives Morris some name recognition and I found a quote attributed to him so he earns a B on the Simon Signers Familiarity Index.
