John Hart
“Gentlemen. We must all hang together or most assuredly we will hang separately.” …
Benjamin Franklin
John Hart was a New Jersey farmer and signer of the Declaration of Independence. There is a book about Hart called: John Hart: The Biography of a Signer of the Declaration of Independence. by Cleon Hammond. Hart was a country farmer with ten or twelve children, accounts differ. He attended the second Continental Congress and voted for and signed the Declaration of Independence. During the war that followed his farm was partially destroyed by British troops and after the battle of Trenton George Washington and the Continental Army were billeted there. He dined with George Washington a singular honor even in that time. Here is a link to the Wikipedia biography if you can’t afford $3000 for the book.
