What Was I Thinking (WWIT) about Trump in December 2025. I think he has reached the high watermark for the damage he can do in this his second term. He is now officially a lame duck.
If the congressional election were held tomorrow the Republicans would lose the house.
The perception of his immigration crackdown has alienated the Hispanic vote.
His tariff policy has introduced so much uncertainty into the marketplace that prices are sure to keep rising.
His appeasement policy towards Putin has scared Europe and not helped Ukraine at all.
And finally the resignation of Congresswoman Greene has shown that some people think that he is not invincible.
He had some good policy ideas but his implementation has been spotty and he doesn’t have a filter on what he says. All of which feeds the sky-is-falling press.
I predict three more years of ranting from both sides and then the election of a moderate Democrat as President. Hopefully not Gavin Newsom.

That’s very optimistic of you– The damage he is doing to the US seems to have little if anything to do with Congress– so he may loose the house but I am guessing that will embolden him all the more as he turns everything into an “executive order” and rips our country to shreds and then basks in it
