“Despair is a mortal sin.”
William F Buckley
I could list all of the government actions that could cause me to despair. But the list would be long and it would make my blood boil. and anyone reading this already knows the list. Instead contemplate the oak tree in the photo. It is in the Gold Country of Northern California. It has survived for a few hundred years. It saw the gold rush of 1849 devastate the region. It saw Jim Crow and bounties on Native Americans and yet it still survives. It is a little bit beaten up but it has survived. And so will we and our Republic.
This too will pass.

Thank you for bringing me back to some sense of normalcy. I will contemplate the various shapes contained in the leaves.
Thanks for the comment. There is too much worry about the present and not enough worry about being happy.
Thanks you to Nurit for the grammar lesson. It is to easy to get too wrong. Definitely a homophone.
