The photo is from the courtyard of the Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg TX. We had an excellent visit there and learned a lot about Nimitz and WWII in the pacific.

The museum is housed in a few building spread around the very middle American looking downtown of Fredericksburg. Ironically it includes both a Japanese peace garden and a daring submarine ride.
I have mixed feeling about glorifying war and warriors. Too much and your Prussia, leading to the Nazis. Too little and your Belgium, leading to destruction in four wars in a row. They did let us into the museum free because I was a veteran, so there is that.
