Pander
Verb: To do or provide, or promise to provide, exactly what a person or group wants, especially when it is not acceptable or reasonable, usually in order to gain an advantage, like votes.
Example: “The candidates pandered to the service employees by saying that if they were elected they would stop taxing wages.”
