Spoonerism
Noun: a verbal error in which a speaker accidentally or deliberately transposes the initial sounds or letters of two or more words, often to humorous effect.
Examples: “Barter wottle” for “water bottle” or “A lack of pies” for a “pack of lies”
“In life you have to take the bitter with the sour” from last weeks post might be a spoonerism. But I could be wrong. It has a word transposition but not internally.
Pronunciation: Spoon-er-ism
Spooner was an Oxford Don prone to making the verbal mistakes that came to be known as spoonerisms.
