I wrote this blog post a couple of years ago and it failed to post. I’m not sure why. Now with Israel finally going after the root cause of the turmoil in the Middle East, Iran, it is even more important that the United States stand and fight with Israel.
The United States should be standing with Israel because after 9/11/2001 Israel stood with us. They did not equivocate or ask for ceasefires to help the Taliban. When the Afghanistan invasion didn’t satisfy our anger about the attacks on the “homeland” Israel supported our attack on Iraq. We should be doing the same.
Israel was attacked without warning on 10/7/2023 they felt the same need for vengeance that we justifiably felt after 9/11. They stood with us then we should stand with them until Hamas is destroyed and the hostages are released.
The postcard above is a stark reminder of the dangers of asymmetric warfare. If Israel is to survive Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapon capability. We can’t stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons forever but we can slow it down considerably.

Usually you’re right on, but I think you’re off base here. Certainly Iran is terrorist state and shouldn’t have nuclear weapons, but Israel needs to be held to account for their own human rights abuses.
