In the late 1960s when I was a hippie carpenter in upstate NY I drove a VW van like this. It had a terrible heater and in the winter when I was driving home drunk late at night I would almost freeze to death.
Those were the good old days.

wa it a VW camper? In the early 70s I had a VW camper I bought in CA and drove back to Mpls– and kept it for a year or 2
Mine was not a camper van. It was as I recall a very light green and it had a top speed of about 60mph.
