Reparations for Slavery
Reparation hearings have started again in Washington DC and I think that it is something we should think about. It seems to me that reparations should be paid to the people who suffered the most from African slave trade. Of course in my estimation that would be the people who weren’t enslaved and were doomed to stay in Africa. The people in the US who are descended from slaves endured the horrors of the transatlantic slave ships and chattel slavery are now the most successful group of people of African descent in the world. See note below for evidence of this claim.
We need to pay reparations to the people who didn’t get captured and were doomed to stay in Africa. Climate, geography and the history of colonialism caused Africa to miss most of the benefits of the industrial and scientific revolutions. It is still the most backward place on earth. The people of Africa deserve reparations not the people who escaped. This is written tongue in cheek to point out that you can’t correct the past. Look forward my friends.

According to Wikipedia in 2008 blacks per capita income in the USA was $18,406. In Sub-Saharan Africa in 2015 per capita income was $762. More than 20 times more.
