Luggage Leash

Wheelie Bags are a great idea for travel. And four wheel bags are a nice improvement on the two wheel kind once you get over the dork factor. The one drawback to the four wheel kind is that on trams, subways and buses they tend to roll away from you if your not paying attention. Here is a solution. This is a duct tape mock up. The actual product will be made from webbing and Velcro with superglue to attach it to your suitcase.

When you need it on the rental car shuttle, you release the loop and step on it. Your suitcase is now on a very short leash. When you’re on your way again flip up the leash and the Velcro holds it in place. I’m giving you this idea.

Why didn’t they invent wheelie suitcases long ago?

  1. I much prefer 2 wheel bags– and here is why
First of all most people tip their 4 wheel bags and pull them like 2 wheel bags anyway, when going any distance of any kind.– the exception may be big bags that are going in checked baggage.

2nd 4 wheel bags have their wheels break much more often than 2 wheel bangs

3rd. 4 wheel bags are harder to maneuver over uneven terrain (like up curbs or down curbs– even on and off escalators and certainly over grass or pebble terrain
4th– they take up extra room- and room is key if you are putting them in the airplane overhead bins- so to make up for that– you lose some volume in your bag

  2. Until this goes into production I think I’ll attach a bicycle kickstand to mine. Please keep me posted, so to speak
