Gulch
Noun: A narrow steep sided ravine or valley.
Example: “The gulch was easier to cross than the canyon.”
The Eskimo’s (now Inuit’s) are said to have thirty different words for snow. We who live, and hike, in the Southwest have thirty different words for valley. Canyon, Gully, Arroyo, Rill, Slot Canyon, Gulch, Ravine, Gorge, Notch, Maybe more….
