Here is a simple idea that might become a big business.
Take the idea of refillable bottles that are used now for selling high end olive oil and apply it to shampoo. Reducing the use of single use plastic containers is an attainable personal environmental goal. When you go to the kiosk to refill your shampoo bottles your actually doing something to help the planet.
In some hotels they already have eliminated the personal size bottle so there is a trend line in this direction.
It doesn’t have to be cheaper. It has to offer good product combined with virtue signaling that you care about the environment.
Caveats:
- It may have already been done. I didn’t really check.
- If it works even on a small scale it wouldn’t take long for Bath & Bodyworks and Saphora to copy it.
- But a well named and promoted product might capture enough mindspace to be an acquisition candidate.
