Hanukkah (Day Six)

On Hanukkah we eat fried food suvganyot, latkes etc to commemorate the miracle of the oil. One day’s oil lasted eight days. One of the miracles we should celebrate is that we eat all of these surplus foods without even having to think about where our next meal is coming from. In our life time the threat of famine has been mostly been lifted from the world.

This is a sweet potato pie with brown sugar and marshmallows made perfectly by Rebecca. A traditional Thanksgiving food.
