From the Y.C. Hong exhibit at the Huntington Library:
“These blessings I wish for my compatriots: businesses that flourish; fortunes smoothly sought; once done a safe and speedy passage home.”
This was part of the inscription on Hong’s business card c. 1928. He was an attorney and advocate for Chinese immigrants at a time when anti Chinese bias was strong in the United States.
