Orchid Rescue

To understand this opportunity you have to have felt these tugs on your emotions.  A sense of warmth and love when you hear the phrase “rescue dog”  and a tiny bit of guilt when an orchid in your care dies slowly after it blooms?

If you have or understand these feeling then you should know about Orchid Rescue. We are a not for profit wiki organization dedicated to the idea that Orchids have a right to bloom again and working to make it happen.

You can help rescue orchids in many ways.  You can drop off an orchid that has flowered at a rescue station and we will find it a good home and if possible bring it back to bloom again. At the drop-off station it will be easy for you to give us a couple of bucks to help pay for the rescue operations.  If you register your returned orchid via our smart phone app you will get a coupon for a discount on a rescue orchid.  So for you it is a wash economically and you can feel good about saving a beautiful flower.  Alternatively you can buy the home Orchid rescue kit and follow the instructions.  All profits are plowed back into the operation.

Want to be more involved?  There are opportunities for Orchid Rescue Volunteers and many more.

So that is the idea behind Orchid Rescue.  It will be easy to test by crowd sourcing to raise the money for the start-up.  At the same time it would be a good idea to start connecting with Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

  1. I already do this-rescue spent orchids from the grocery and bring them back to life. Don’t have enough so one is always in bloom for the taking, though!
