The Postcard Plan

2014 was a good year for Simon and postcards.

  • I joined Postcrossing.com   (and you should also)
  • I sent more than 1100 actual postcards from four countries to about 170 people. And
  • I send 41 weekly ePostcards via Constant Contact to about 150 people.

Most of us can do very little to increase happiness in the world.  I like to think that my very retro postcard projects help in some tiny way.  If you would like an occasional smile when you open mailbox ask me to send you a card or join Postcrossing.   My favorite cards are the ones I send to children and to Seniors.  The children because it is so strange to them and the Seniors because it is a flashback.  See all the ePostcards from 2013 here.

About ten years ago when I was starting to seriously write some postcards I wrote that one of the very nice things about postcards was that they are a gift that doesn’t imply any obligation.  You don’t have to thank someone for a postcard or return the favor.  You do however have to keep your address current and be willing to tolerate my extremely bad cursive.  I have written about 10,000 cards in the past decade.  Stay tuned.
