The “S” Word

Organic everything.

But please explain to me the difference between:

“Organic evaporated cane juice”

and

Sugar?

Apparently selling “health food” is easy and profitable

because the customers are extremely gullible.

  1. Simon, I have been buying “organic honey” and wondering what non-organic honey might be?

  2. Bill it is worse than you think: “In United States there is no inspection or enforcement. Honey may carry the USDA seal, but there are few federal standards for honey, no government certification and no consequences for making false claims. This is directly from the USDA Rules and Regulations, “…honey does not require official inspection in order to carry official USDA grade marks…there are no existing programs that require the official inspection and certification of honey…”

  3. Simon, “organic” now officially means “we claim this product is insecticide and herbicide free – but no one has checked our claim.” A complete subversion of the true meaning of the word by people interested in promoting their product as superior and therefore more costly for the consumer. As good-old P.T.said,”there’s a sucker born every – “, fill in the blank.
One thing can be sure, ALL honey is insecticide free or there ain’t gonna be any honey.
