Two Potential Causes of the Salmonella Outbreak

  • Nurit had the idea that the increase in salmonella outbreaks may have been caused by bagged lettuce.  Think about it we used to wash our own lettuce.  We used to throw away the outside leaves.  Now we have someone clean it for us.  Maybe they aren’t being careful?
  • My idea is that reported cases of salmonella bacteria infections correlate with the increased use of reusable shopping bags.  If your food touched a plate you’d wash the plate.  Food touches your reusable shopping bags.  Do you wash your reusable shopping bags every time you use them?  This sounds like a case of sacrificing sanitation and safety for environmentalism.  It worries me.
  • BTW while I was researching this idea I googled Salmonella and there is an ad on the search results page is an ad for “The Most Experienced Salmonella Attorneys in US www.marlerclark.com.”  Is this a great country or what?
