While on the Beyond Borders Road Trip last week I took my day off and went up to Saratoga Springs, NY to see my friends Doug and Cory W. It was such a delight to see them that I forgot to take their picture. But I did get one of their dog “Moby Dog.”
Their back garden in the rain:
and their beautiful craftsman style dining room.
We went to dinner at a very nice trendy restaurant in Saratoga with their friend Sally (I could be wrong on the name, the wine was excellent). It was a great evening. Doug and I see each other about every five years and it is as if the conversation never stopped. He is still a thick skinned liberal and I am a thick headed conservative.
Doug and Cory have bought an old mineral water factory ground in Saratoga and are puzzling about what to do with it.
This picture is one of the five buildings on the beautiful site by a very nice stream. In the meantime the city has rebuilt a bridge next to the property. It is outstanding in that it qualifies as one of the cheapest looking bridges I have ever seen.
It is time to plant some trees.
