Bisbee, AZ

Yesterday Nurit and I drove down from Tucson thru Tombstone to Bisbee, Arizona.  It is about a two hour drive through desert, high desert and barren mountains.

Bisbee

Bisbee is an old copper mining town and fifty years ago had 30,000 plus residents. Now it has about 6000.

The mines closed in the 1970’s and the town has become a quaint tourist destination.

Since the mine closed and the population started to shrink housing is cheap and the oldest houses are falling down.

We had a very nice lunch at the Prickly Pear Cafe where Missy, the dog was treated very well.  Most of the tourist stores in the town were very dog friendly.  Bisbee is a very nice, low key, one day excursion from Tucson.
