Nurit and I had to fly back to Pasadena on Monday to see Gary D. who is still very ill. The trip meant we had to leave Acequia Madre at 5:45am and wouldn’t be home until midnight and because we were flying Missy, the dog, couldn’t go with us. Nurit googled (new verb) petsitters (new noun) and found NMpetsitters.com

A few phone calls led us to Sloan Cunningham of Pet Care by Sloan. We hired Sloan over the phone and she turned out to be extremely reliable, she loved animals and in all respects exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend her.
What an amazing world we live in where a need as arcane as “someone to take care of my dog for the day in a new town” can be met via the internet.
I second Simon’s thoughts. Missy really liked Sloan. We would gladly leave her in Sloan’s care again.
Sloan ‘s compassion for animals and dedication to her job are to be applauded. She is honest, reliable and always puts the best interest of the animal first. (She talks to them just like a good friend !!) We are so fortunate to have her in Santa Fe, knowing that if we have to leave at a moment’s notice, she is there to help and can be fully trusted.
Sloan forwarded this to me. It is very sweet. I, too, count on her for the most loving care of my ‘kids’ and she always comes through. It is LUCKY that you could find someone reliable over the Internet. I wish that all the pet sitters were reliable and loving, but they are not all good and finding a safe place or someone you can trust in your home can be daunting. Sloan is one of the best, no, I’d say THE best caretaker in town and I hope you do continue to refer her because that is the best way we can be sure our loving companions will be well cared for.

I have a room mate who is constantly on the go! She often has work out of town and leaves me here in Santa Fe to care for myself…….. In steps my best bud Sloan. She comes to talk with me, feeds me, cleans my litter box and spends quality, loving time with me. I love and trust her so much.
I am willing to share her with you but you must promise not to bite her!
