How to Plant an Oak Tree

Dig a hole.

Put the tree in the hole.

Put in some stakes, build a water well and water daily for three weeks.

Our old oak tree died from a fungus and the City of Pasadena Forestry Department planted a new one.  We had to prod them a few times but it got done and the workers knew what they were doing.  I was surprised that it was a bare root tree but so far so good.  It has been a week.  Oaks grow very slowly and they die the same way.
