I have mixed reactions.
It seems out of bounds at first pass.
On the other hand, anything post Holocaust that a survivor does is in and of itself a minor miracle. If this is how they want to tell their story, however odd, is a blessing of sorts.
It’s a strange world we live in, with boundaries constantly eroding. Who would have thought Roberto Benigni’s Life is Beautiful- essentially a slapstick comedy set in the camps, could be so touching?

Nurit saw it the same as you. After I got over the initial bad taste feeling I thought it was a little expliotive.
