I went to the CECUT museum in Tijuana on Friday to work on the map exhibit. There is good news on that front. It looks like we will be having the Changing Boundaries Exhibit there for three months starting in January of 2012. While I was at the Museum I saw a collection of whimsical sculptures that caught my attention. I got these two pictures:
A circular rake
A corner skateboard
I didn’t have time to learn about the artist or get the brochure and all of the signage was in Spanish. It may be art by Shinpei Takeda. Here is a link to his other art at CECUT
CECUT is worth a visit. It really is one of the top museums in our region. Yes it is safe to go to Tijuana. Now I know this will surprise you but the media is over stating the danger. In fact the reality is that Tijuana is doing well. They are finishing lots of important infrastructure projects and the police are being extremely polite to tourists.
