“They” includes: Egyptians, Romans, Babylonians, Russians, Nazis, Arabs and now Persians. We have survived and we will survive. Let’s eat.
Part of the reason we have survived so long is that we have traditions like Passover that are family based. They can be performed within the home by the family and are therefore difficult for enemies to destroy. Temples, Churches and Mosques can be torn apart.
Our family is dispersed so we have Passover and Hanukkah when we can get together not necessarily on the date specified by the ancient lunar calendar. This year we had Hanukkah on the 35th night, it was a miracle.
Tell the story of the exodus from Egypt, eat some of the traditional foods and be kind to strangers. (for you were strangers once in the land of Egypt.
