Words Seldom Seen: Tautology

Tautology

Noun: a phrase or expression in which the same thing is said twice in different words. Editors generally consider the use of tautologies to be bad style.

Example: “We drove back to town separately, in two cars, is a tautology.”

Pronounciation: tau’·tol·o·gy Hear it here

I’m not sure which falls this is but the photo was taken in December 2010. It is either Bridal Veil of Yosemite Falls. Someone will know.

  1. It is Yosemite Falls. Looking forward to seeing it again this summer.
