Interregnum
Noun: The period between governments. Originally the period between kings (regnum is Latin for something to do with kings) It has also come to mean the period between two significant events.
Examples: “The interregnum between election day and inauguration day is fraught with danger.”
“The interregnum between finishing writing the book and its publication is very stressful.”
The photo is of a massive charcuterie board at a wedding. It was magnificent.
