We aren’t letting the law of supply and demand work when we think the government can decide what is “price gouging.” It shows either a distrust of consumers to make choices or is just pandering. In either case it won’t work. The only way to help the poor in the long run is to grow the economic pie. It is just pandering to promise that you will not tax tips. A plague on both their houses.
