Fantastic Realization Syndrome

Fantastic Realization Syndrome (FRS) was first identified and named by my brother, Tom, many years ago. I had an FRS moment a few days ago. As part of our cruise we went on a truffle hunt in the center of Italy. I asked the guide about the history of the area, she gave a long explanation that included that the area was ruled by a Count and so it became a county in the newly united Italy. Counts ruled Counties for me an FRS. Probably obvious to you. So why didn’t you tell me?

The gnocchi with shaved truffles was magnificent. Shaved by our guide from black truffles he and his very cute truffle hunting dog named Laura found. White truffles are too valuable to waste on tourists. It was one our more enjoyable shore excursions and I was gifted with a Fantastic Realization Syndrome.

  1. Simon,
I didn’t know that about counts.
    Thanks for the FRS.
