Laches, Noun: A legal term that refers to an unreasonable delay in making a claim or asserting a right that might make it difficult for the accused to prove his case.

Excellent. Laches is an equitable doctrine so may or may not apply in a fact pattern with a strict statute.
You wanted I know to raise this in the context of Tara Reade’s recent recall if an alleged sexual.assault that never happened.

You’re way smarter than me. I learned about the word when I was researching my Avis claim and hadn’t yet applied it to Biden’s #MeTo issue.
I feel the same way about Tara Reade’s accusation against Joe Biden as I did about Christine Ford’s accusation against Kavanaugh. It is generally bad ethics to bring up and give credence to claims that are old. Due process and Laches take precedence over “All women are to be believed.”
Basically the Republicans are being buttheads just like the Democrats were about Kavanaugh.
